Restore flow, then inspect what is visible.
Jetting can move a restriction without establishing why it formed. When the line is passable and visibility is useful, a camera run may show roots, offsets, low spots, damage or remaining debris in the reachable section. Camera findings and locating can reduce uncertainty, but they do not guarantee that every section or defect can be seen. Confirm whether jetting, CCTV and any record format are part of the same agreed scope before relying on them for repair planning.

Questions before you request service.
Do the jetting and camera inspection have to happen on the same day?
Not necessarily. Same-visit sequencing may be useful when jetting restores visibility, but access, pipe condition, discharge or capture needs, scheduling and the result can change the order. Ask for both tasks in the request so the practical sequence can be confirmed; a pre-jetting camera may have limited visibility in a heavily blocked line.
What defects can the camera actually detect in a storm line?
Where camera reach and visibility allow, CCTV may show visible roots, cracks or breaks, offset joints, low spots, collapsed sections or debris points. It cannot guarantee that every defect will be seen, provide a structural engineering assessment or inspect beyond blocked or unreachable sections.
We have a recurring blockage in the same spot every year. Is this worth investigating with a camera?
A recurring blockage can justify further investigation, but it does not prove a structural cause. Cleaning history, access and current conditions determine whether jetting, CCTV or another diagnostic step is appropriate. Camera findings may help target repair planning; they do not guarantee a permanent fix or future savings.
